Medical Weight Loss & Metabolic Health
Weight loss clients have always been some of my favourites to work with because after spending years carrying extra weight, I eventually lost 35 kilos and discovered that lasting, sustainable weight loss has very little to do with being good and everything to do with understanding your unique metabolism and how your body works

"The weight loss was great. Losing the back pain was even better."

"Three stone lighter, I can see my feet now
and I'm feeling fantastic."

"7lbs lighter, more ooph in my running and feeling healthier all round."
Dhanraj loved a good party and was convinced that getting healthy meant giving up everything that made life fun. As a single dad juggling work, family and a social life, he wasn't interested in living on salads or spending hours in the gym. But with high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and his waistline heading in the wrong direction, he knew something had to change. Together we introduced some simple fasting, short bursts of strength training and tackled his late-night doom-scrolling habit. The results exceeded all expectations. Within months he had lost an incredible 32kg, taken 6 inches off his waist, and seen both his blood pressure and cholesterol return to normal. Thankfully, he still manages to enjoy a party too.
Wanda was a nurse I used to work with and one of my biggest sceptics. For years she rolled her eyes whenever I started talking about sleep, sunlight, meal timing or why night shifts were wreaking havoc with her hormones. Surely weight loss couldn't be that simple? Eventually she decided to put her scepticism aside and give it a try. By reducing her night shifts, improving her sleep and making some straightforward changes to her nutrition, everything started to change. Within months she had lost over 63kg, dropped three dress sizes, was able to come off all her medications and felt better than she had in years. Turns out there was some method in the madness after all.

"You really have changed my life. And I lost 5 kgs in 2 weeks!"

"The weight started coming off before I'd even started exercising."

"Three weeks in, 3 inches off my waist and
9kg lost."

"5kg down, more energy and normal blood pressure."

"100 days, 30 pounds down and no longer thinking about food all day."
"4 kilos in 4 weeks, a little slow but it feels permanent this time."

Most people come to me wanting to lose weight. Jacqueline didn't. She already had something many people spend years searching for: genuine confidence and acceptance of her body. Her goal was only to be less dependent on medication. Together we focused on addressing the underlying causes of her symptoms rather than chasing a number on the scales. As her health improved, the weight started to come off all by itself. By the end, she'd lost 10kg, dropped two dress sizes and reduced her medication. Not bad for someone who wasn't even trying to lose weight.
SJ and I spent years arguing about weight loss. As a Slimming World consultant, she believed in calorie counting; I believed there was a better way. It became a bit of a standing joke between us, with each of us convinced we were right. Eventually she decided to put my approach to the test. By focusing on nutrient-dense food, simple fasting and working with her body's hunger signals, she went on to lose an incredible 48kg. Even better, many of the menopausal symptoms she had been struggling with improved dramatically too. I'm not saying I won the argument, but the scales may have had an opinion
Holistic Paediatrics & Teenage Health Support
I originally went into medicine because I loved working with children. Even after 25 years as a doctor, there is still something
incredibly rewarding about helping a worried parent, supporting a struggling teenager or simply taking
the time to listen when a family feels unheard.
Children aren't just small adults. They need a different approach, plenty of empathy, and often a little detective work. Whether it's eczema, tummy troubles, hormones, behaviour, nutrition or simply a parent wanting a second opinion, I always try to treat the whole child, not just the symptom.

"A lifeline when we needed
one the most."
"The perfect blend of professionalism and warmth."
"Compassionate, reassuring and incredibly thorough."
"Medical expertise delivered with kindness and common sense."
Harj contacted me about her daughter, who was struggling with constipation and becoming increasingly distressed. After exploring her symptoms, diet and a few simple changes we could make at home, her daughter finally did a poo that very evening. Sometimes the biggest win isn't fancy medicine, it's helping a worried parent breathe a sigh of relief.
Jodie came to see me for one problem and left with answers to several others. What initially looked like a simple consultation quickly became a discussion about hormones, possible PCOS, nutrition and overall health. After making some minor changes, she lost 10kg in just a month, her skin improved and she began feeling much more comfortable in herself.
Chronic Illness Recovery & Disease Reversal Stories
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching what happens when we stop chasing symptoms and start asking why they are there in the first place. Whilst no doctor can promise a cure, it is remarkable how often the body begins to heal given the right metabolic support. The patient success stories below include lasting improvements in digestive problems, autoimmune conditions, skin issues, chronic fatigue, and type 2 diabetes remission, often in ways people never expected.

"I was told there was no cure for IBS. Fortunately, Dr Ashvy gave me hope that all my diseases were curable."

"My blood sugars are going down so much and so fast"

"Even after a holiday in Turkey and Portugal, I lost 10 kgs easily. Better yet I'm off all my medication."

"My BP has come down from
140/110 to 125/85."

When Sophie and I first met, she was at the lowest point in her life.
Her eczema had become so severe that she hadn't felt comfortable showing her bare arms or legs for years, and it was affecting far more than just her skin.
It had started to shape how she saw herself and how she showed up in the world. After years of creams, prescriptions and temporary fixes, she was being advised to consider stronger immune-suppressing medication. That was the point she decided there had to be another way. Rather than focusing solely on her skin, we started by exploring the emotional side of her health. We worked on stress, past experiences, self-worth and the deeper patterns that had been driving her body for years. It wasn't a quick fix, and it certainly wasn't the easiest part of the journey, but it proved to be one of the most important. Gradually her skin began to heal, but what moved me most was seeing her confidence return. For the first time in years, she felt comfortable in her own skin, both physically and emotionally. Sophie's story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the symptom we can see is only a small part of the story.
"Mum is completely off her diabetes medication now, and her specialist wants to take her off her remaining medication too. At 78 years old, that's something we never thought we'd be celebrating."
Charlotte came to me with a life altering chronic autoimmune condition leaving her scared and in severe pain.
Rather than just symptom relief, we explored the deeper drivers contributing to her illness. We changed her nutrition, lifestyle and emotional wellbeing, and her health and confidence began to improve dramatically and quickly.

Supportive, Compassionate & Patient-Centered Care
Health is never just about food, exercise or medication. Often, people need someone who will listen, support, encourage and help them navigate the challenges that come with creating lasting change.
These messages remind me that whilst knowledge matters, kindness, compassion and feeling truly heard can be just as powerful.

Empathy-Driven
Functional Medicine Care
One of the greatest compliments I receive is that people feel genuinely heard. Whether someone comes to me with weight concerns, hormone issues, digestive problems or simply a feeling that something isn't quite right, my goal is always the same: to understand the person sitting in front of me, not just the symptoms they present with.
Many of my clients tell me they have never experienced this level of listening, empathy and personalised support before. For me, medicine has always been about people first. The science matters enormously, but so do compassion, curiosity and taking the time to understand someone's unique story.

Returning to my roots as a GP has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work. After years of training in nutrition, lifestyle and functional medicine, I've learned that the best results come from combining the strengths of both approaches.
My patients often tell me they value having a doctor who can diagnose and prescribe when needed, whilst also helping them understand the deeper lifestyle factors influencing their health.
It's a blend of conventional medicine and root-cause thinking that many people feel they've been searching for.

What Happens When Someone Finally
Feels Heard
As a medical colleague, she understood health better than most. Yet despite years of trying different approaches, she still struggled with food, poor sleep and self-criticism.
Rather than focusing on calories, we worked on the deeper drivers: old emotional wounds, self-worth, stress and the pressure she placed on herself. Through weekly coaching sessions and daily WhatsApp support, she finally felt seen, heard and supported.
More than anything, she wanted to be the healthiest, happiest version of herself for her children. As her relationship with herself improved, so did her health. The weight loss followed, but it was never the most important part of the story.
